Technicals Prep, First Rounds - am I cooked?

Hey guys I’m looking for some advice now that recruitment is really starting to kick off, with a lot of firms opening apps on Jan 1. I’ve been going through a technicals course (BIWS) for a few days now and plan to do the 400q guide once I finish that course. I want to make sure I understand everything conceptually. I wish I could have started earlier in the fall but I had no time due to academic rigor, trying to find a 2025 internship, and the networking I did for both 2025 and 2026. Everyone is telling me to apply to these firms asap, but I’m worried I will be sent a hireview immediately and won’t be prepared for it. I also have not networked at some of these firms. I anticipated interviews wouldn’t be until at the earliest late January, but apparently JPM is already sending them out. Do I wait another week to submit my Jan 1 applications? Or do hireviews not even go out for a few weeks after you apply anyway (I should be good by late January)? I’ve taken accounting, I’ve made a 3 statement model and a DCF in a previous IB internship, so I wouldn’t say I’m starting from scratch with everything to do with technicals. But there are certainly some topics I know nothing about. Background: 3.8 low target, good ecs, 3 internships (ER, lmm boutique IB, same thing next summer but diff boutique), Ive done 25 calls (for 2026) with analysts across 5 or 6 banks but I know I need to pump those numbers up How should I handle this situation with the technicals and the first rounds? Am I cooked? Anything is appreciated, and good luck to everyone else.
