Things to automate in IB
What are things you can automate in IB? I know my firm has a template that you type in tickers in excel and it makes a stock chart, what other things have your firms done?

is your firm in 1998?
My firm has a device where you can talk to people who are far away from you. You need to have a specific number to reach a specific person and they also need one of these devices. So quite a complicated system but much more efficient than sending a telegram.
IB really is a dying industry
No disrespect but it sounds like you probably haven't been in the seat long enough to know weather or not analyses are even automated.
Im very doubtful a legit investment bank doesn't have automated data pulls via FactSet, CIQ, SNL or BBG
I've never seen a manual rain.
Nah we have that, but we have excel for a chart for any multiple that you can group tickers together. For example TWTr, FB and call it Social Media or whatever
In VC we don't have any software that automatically highlights changes in a data room. Data room is auto-synced with the company/us, but the details why/which files were updated are not clear.
there are normally up to 20 folders and several hundred files in total.
maybe there is a software add-on we don't have installed or we don't pay for? who knows.
What data room provider do you use? Most have this feature or you can switch to a better provider
our companies and we mostly use MSFT Share Point, capterra, one Asian subsidiary is on SAP and, if the company is really small, Google drive (which we then manually copy/paste).

You can save yourself from the data entry, and focus on setting up your spreadsheet or anything else. Grabsheet is secure, unlike some of the other free PDF converters, in that we give users control over how their data is used; we never collect data that you do not want us to.
Why not just use the alt key and copy and paste?
Why the MS on this lol. Yeah they're promoting their product but at least they're not hiding it like we've seen on here in the past

Got a tool that renames CIP PDFs in a folder to make a vbuyer for each buyer. Have another tool that will pdf and protect each cip based off of the name of the cip. Can do 150 cips in 10 minutes rather than take a few hours... don’t tell my VP.

Have a PDF script that renames and watermarks PDFs fully automatically. One script ran through an excel file.

Have heard some banks are exploring the use of automation software such as UiPath for certain time-intensive analyst processes such as industry news pulls / file naming and duplication for broadly marketed process materials (teaser, NDA,CIM). The concept of automating mundane and onerous tasks is certainly becoming more on the radar for management organizations as the technology becomes available.
