This is why you do NOT talk to reporters
A few weeks ago some reporter named Erin Hudson at Bloomberg "accidentally" sent out her entire list of rx industry contacts and confidants to ALL of her sources. A couple guys at my shop have since been let go, some were really fucking good too. Unsure if she still has a job but this broad shouldn't even be allowed to cover local news. DM me if you want the list. Some of the notes are absurd.
Post-post thought: there are occasions when it makes sense to discreetly talk to a journalist and strategically leak information. After all, we play 3D chess. Just be careful.
Based on the highest ranked content on WSO, it's crucial to be extremely cautious when dealing with reporters, especially in sensitive industries like finance. Here are some key points to consider:
Confidentiality Risks: Sharing information with reporters can lead to unintended consequences, such as the accidental release of sensitive contact lists, which can result in job losses and damage to professional reputations.
Strategic Leaks: While there may be strategic reasons to discreetly share information with journalists, it's important to weigh the risks and benefits carefully. Ensure that any information shared is done so with a clear purpose and understanding of potential repercussions.
Professional Conduct: Always maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion when interacting with the media. Missteps can have significant career implications.
Verification: Before engaging with a journalist, verify their credibility and the security of the communication channels being used.
Remember, the stakes are high in the finance industry, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism is paramount.

Corporate journalists are the lowest form of life in the universe. However much you dislike them, you don't hate them nearly enough.
Looks like she was moved from distressed debt reporting to municipal finance reporter, I assume due to this
Munis? How sad! Imagine calling the mayor of some BFE town in Kansas..."Hello sir! My name is Erin Hudson and I now cover munis here at Bloomberg because I was retarded and accidentally sent my old source list to all of my subscribers, but I promised I wouldn't do it again so they let me keep my job. Anyways, I hear your town is issuing debt to finance a new public petting zoo. Is this true?"
