Thoughts on buy-side HF IR/fundraising role?

I'm a second year S&T analyst working in one of top BBs, and I got approached by a recruiter who asked me to apply to an IR/fundraising role at one of renowned HFs. I work in a pretty plain-vanilla desk, so my learning curve has definitely hit the ceiling, but I enjoy working in a markets role and like the product I deal with. However, I feel like my current desk will be automated in less than 10 years, and I don't enjoy the trading aspect of the role where I have to be glued in front of the screen for +12 hours a day. The HF position I'll be applying to will cover more markets & products than in my current position, but I'm also worried that my role will not go so much "in-depth" in the products that I'll be covering.

That being said, does anyone have any advice if I should try to make the jump to a HF IR/fundraising position? Anybody have any insight into similar roles/positions in the buyside?

Thank you
