Thoughts on Michigan LSA economics recruiting? Switch majors?

Hello,

The University of Michigan was the best school I was accepted to (vs. Villanova, Fordham, and Northeastern). I didn't get into Ross.

I've read a lot of conflicting information on LSA Econ vs Ross (from here + Reddit) - some people say that the OCR that is done is heavily targeted towards Ross with practically no interest in LSA Econ (describing it as a particularly weak program), whereas others have said that there's no difference at all besides having access to Ross's interview prep and resume guidance, and that Michigan alumni will help you whether you're from Ross or not. Can anyone touch upon this?

I'm a math-inclined person, and am curious if I might fare better with a major other than economics (ex. mathematics, computer science, etc). From what I've read, this would open me to the more quantitatively-oriented finance jobs as well as keep me in competition for the more classical ones that students in Ross would be shooting for?

Really I'm just lost as to what I should be pursuing.

Thanks
