Thoughts on Scotia IB in NY?
Is it possible to go to MM PE or lateral up to another bank (BB/EB) to become a career banker from Scotiabank NY office?
I heard that their Houston IB is really strong but what's street's opinion on their NY IBD teams? IIRC, they have Real Estate, FIG, CIR, Power/Utilities, LatAM, and etc.
Side track but why do you believe their Houston Office is really strong?
Because Scotia is known for their O&G / Mining (Canada)
I can't speak to their Houston office, but strongly doubt MM PE is a typical exit from Scotia. Put it this way; even in Toronto, a MM PE exit from Scotia is atypical. Don't see why you wouldn't be able to lateral to a BB as long as you networked properly. Scotia wouldn't be at the top of the list for BB recruiters but that doesn't mean it can't happen.
