Bottom tier MM. They're pretty decent in the healthcare life sciences & medtech scene (based on what I heard from a friend who knew a previous associate there) but bottom tier for sure.
People are great in terms of culture. I think comp is about street level, if not less.
The pay scale is subscale. Unless your last name is Stephens, you'll never really make it big. As you progress, they'll pay you more, proportionally, but never true rainmaker type money. The way one of my colleagues described it is that even at the MD level, they'll pay you enough to afford a country club membership, maybe a lake house, but you'll never get paid enough to actually leave the bank with a nest egg.
If you have a country club membership and a lakehouse but no nest egg sounds like a spending problem lol.
That statement is more tongue in cheek than actuality...essentially they pay you enough to keep you coming back, but you'll never hit your "number" to leave....
