Thoughts on the new Goldman Sachs logo?

Will be rolled out over the next few days. They have already changed the LinkedIn logo to this new one. I feel like the old one is so iconic and they really didn’t need a rebrand, does anyone know what the idea was behind this?

It looks horrible. The old logo just exuded prestige and cleanliness. The aesthetic alone made me want to work there. Now it looks like some guy used Garamond to type two capital letters and smudged the middle. Plus the white font looked super clean. I am disgusted and appalled.

Comment thread here goes to show how ignorant of basic human perception people who work in “high finance” are. 5 years from now, when the branding is fully ingrained, come back to this thread, you’ll be shocked at how people could have ever thought this logo was bad. You guys will never amount to anything because you’re all slaves to your lizard brain.

It reflects the new GS. It was a storied brand and the original logo (Who do you want in your corner?), even before it went blue, was iconic. DSol is a divorced, wanna-be rave party DJ and hypocrite. Not organic to the organization (well outside the Targaryen bloodline) and the original partners just eyeroll him. It's a kleptocracy now.

But, we would all take a job there and strive for the PMD money. And therein lies the enigma of GS.
