Hi all, I’m trying to understand the mechanics of an IPO. So TikTok may IPO in China, not the US. If this were to happen, will current US employees expect a huge pay out?
also, if the valuation for TikTok is already high, can employees still expect a huge payout?

So, if the company IPO beyond $100Bn, then he will get a payout that equivalent to % increase times the amount of shares vested. Will probably be a pretty meaningful payout, probably everyone who joined ~3 years ago will be millionaires, if stocks are fully vested.
