To Bankers Who Moved to New York
Incoming FT in New York, and I'm confused about documentation. I have a passport that's expired but a driver's license that is good for like the next decade. Once I move to New York, do I have to get a state license/ID card? Or can I just keep my out of state driver's license for primary ID? Any other cards/ID I need to get?
State ID is pretty straightforward. Get that.
also might make sense to switch driver id to nys driver license if you plan to drive around. Not required tho. I know a guy who drove around for years on a mongolian drivers license lol without any issue
Hahaha thx
I’ve been on my Tx dl. No reason to change whatsoever unless you’re set on voting
OP here - when you google it, it says you need to tell New York DMV within 30 days. I'm guessing this is just relevant if you have a car/actually drive
Freaking CA makes you switch within 10 days lol
Been here 4 years with an out of state license without any issues. Doesn’t matter, regardless of what the website says. Technically you should but it’s not worth it
