Too Late for Networking? - Advice Needed

Hi everyone,

I'm a junior currently still recruiting for summer analyst roles. I have a very mediocre GPA (3.5), from a semi-target school in the Midwest but very good work / internship experience. I applied to one of these MM banks with the thought of not getting anything, pretty much just applying because I can. I ended up getting a first round and I did well there and finished one of the 2 second round interviews.

I'm not too sure if I should still send networking emails to analysts at this bank since my understanding is networking will help you initially but from the interviews it is your own effort. I'd be more than happy to send a billion emails to analysts but I'm not too sure if I should / worth the time relatively later on in the process. This application is my last shot at banking in the summer which is why any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much!

Recruited for FT MM’s. If you’re already in the process I’d say it’s a waste of time to do networking calls but the flip side of that is I don’t really see a downside. I made it to a few super days that fell through and ultimately ended up signing at the last shop I interviewed with. Advice from my experience would to just be selling out on this position… know the group and standard technical guide like the back of your hand. Also emphasize this group and this bank… regardless of how good/bad the culture of the group is they eat that shit up. PM for any other questions if you’d like
