Too Old to be an IBD Analyst

I just turned 28 on September, I know that most interviewers wont ask my age, but the fact is that I'm an experienced candidate (3 Years in Corp Banking/Credit ratings). I think that most of them would think that I don't fit the role of an 'Analyst' anymore. Lately I've been thinking that my best bet would be to do my MBA when I turn 30 at a Semi-Target School and aim to land a summer associate role and hopefully a full-time offer. If anybody could provide some thoughts/insights on my thought process, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah that sounds like a good plan. I think an MBA is a good thing to do because it will help you get to where you want to go faster because you will then have the perfect combination: finance experience and an MBA.

Sounds like a good plan to me as well. I was considering the MBA route but a recruiter reached out to me and was able to open the door. As a 30 year old analyst, I found you need to be flexible and have a “do whatever it takes mentality” to get in - this would include overseas opportunities. Without it you will close the door on many open positions.
