Top 2 Reasons you chose investment banking
I am just wondering what are the reasons why y'all decided to pursue investment banking. Here are a couple reasons I can think of although there are clearly more:
- Money
- Prestige
- Resume builder
- Peer Pressure
- Unsure what to do with life
- Genuine Interest in Modeling
Does your top 2 come from this list or do you have others? Feel free to respond.
Skill building (Resume) and access to high(ish) level business
Kicking the can down the road for what you want to do in your career. It allows good money and your skills are transferrable if it doesn't end up being what you want to do
I'm don't understand why 'fame' is on this list. The people in finance considered "famous" to the general public aren't even investment bankers (Jordan Belfort, Warren Buffett, anyone in The Big Short).
