Top group at MS vs Evercore
Title says it all. Just received a FT offer from a top group in MS NY (not m&a, but think mediacomm/sponsors). I've always like Evercore and have some ins there from networking, but I didn't have a chance to interview there last year. Should I throw my hat in the ring and try to leverage my return offer, or should I stick with what I got and enjoy my senior year?
By the way, I'm thinking about my decision mainly from a PE recruiting standpoint. Evercore has pretty good culture imo, but I liked the people at my group in MS too. So which do you think is better for landing top PE gigs?
ms is less of a gamble, there are much worse groups at EVR
I’d take the MS offer because: 1. You actually have it, unlike that EVC offer you’d like to have the chance at (wouldn’t we all) 2. Culture matters a lot, and if you actually enjoyed WFH for reasons other than getting to wear gym shorts on Tuesdays, that says a lot about your chemistry with your team. 3. If you’re at a top group at MS or EVC you’ll get looks from everywhere. Simply put, the “prestigious analyst role” will check the box and it’ll be up to you as a candidate from there.
I was told there's no FT recruiting happening for EVR this year (NYC)
