Total shares outstanding for dual-class shares
Hi, for the calculation of market cap, I'm trying to find the total shares outstanding for a company that has two classes of common shares (Class A and Class B). Both classes have voting rights but Class B is not eligible to receive dividends. In this case, can I still add the number of common stock outstanding in Class A and Class B to get the total shares outstanding?
Thank you.
no i dont think so
Thank you for replying. In this case, do I only take total shares outstanding from the class that gives dividends?
