Transition from Air Force Intelligence Analyst to Investment Analyst

I'm a 20 year old Australian Intelligence Analyst looking to break into investment analysis after my 2 years of service here in the Australian Air Force. I'm interested in Investment banking and Commodities trading. How marketable are my service skills in the financial industry? I'm not looking to join Goldman, KKR, Koch or Vitol, A small boutique firm will do me just fine. I'm asking because I'm not sure if I need to have a bachelors in a field to be considered for a position. Goldman states that they don't look at degrees etc but what they say and what they actually do are two different stories. I'm essentially asking for advice if I should pursue a degree whilst in the service before I attempt to transition out of the Air force or will my intelligence work in the air force be enough. I make $71,000 tax free a year but I enjoy researching through hundreds of software/tech companies and modelling them so I figured a career in finance is better suited for me. Thank you.
