TripleTree vs Edgemont Partners

Hi everyone, I'm currently looking to move into the healthcare sector. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on these two firms in terms of their comp, reputation, exits, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your insight! Could you please elaborate on that - what specifically did you find impressive about TripleTree?

I’ve sat across Edgemont and TripleTree on calls and deals when I interned at a small PE shop and worked at Corp Dev. TripleTree is just leagues ahead when it comes to industry knowledge and relationships especially in HCIT. They’ve show us deals that were right in line with what we were looking for. They just “get it”. On the plus side, they were much more chill, easy to talk to and just great to learn from. Their poise and polish is another good impression. Nothing against Edgemont, but the MDs just didn’t seem as enthusiastic and passionate about the space as TripleTree in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I can’t speak to the analyst experience. They’re working on legit deals though. Also, I’ve worked at both a comparable boutique and at a BB, and can tell you there is typically less hand-holding and more responsibility given to analysts at the former. With that said, I’d expect analysts get solid deal execution and modeling experience at TripleTree. Anecdotally, I was generally more impressed with the quality of analysts at my prior boutique than at the BB I currently work.
