Have a first round interview with this group but I genuinely don't have any insight into energy. Any recommendations on how to prepare?

Read up on recent energy news / have a answer as to why you’re interested in energy. There may be some primers out there. Ask any friends you have in energy IB what they recommend to know
Know what upstream, midstream, and downstream are. Know a recent transaction in the space and why it happened. Depending on how much time you have you could skim through a primer (google DB or TPH energy primer) Have a reason for why energy.
Groups know that college students haven't been exposed to energy, as long as you can show interest in the space you'll be okay.
