Tufts non-D1 athlete vs. Middlebury for BB IB
A/W are obviously up top and Bowdoin is worse than Midd/better than Hamilton, so is Tufts better or worse than Midd if I'm non-varsity? I heard that for D1 NESCACs like Tufts and Colgate sports are a tremendous boost and pseudo-expectation. Thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems that both Tufts and Middlebury have their own strengths when it comes to breaking into Bulge Bracket Investment Banking.
Middlebury, being a Liberal Arts College (LAC), has a strong reputation and is known for its specific type of culture. It's a small school, somewhat preppy, and has a strong alumni network. It's also worth noting that students from Middlebury are never at a disadvantage because they didn't major in Finance.
On the other hand, Tufts, being a non-D1 NESCAC, also has its own advantages. While sports can indeed be a boost, it's not a strict requirement. The school also has a strong alumni network and a good reputation.
In the end, it's not so much about which school is "better" or "worse" - it's more about where you feel you would fit in better and where you could leverage the resources and opportunities available to you. Remember, it's not just about getting into a good school, but also about making the most of your time there. So, choose the one that aligns with your goals and where you think you can thrive.

Thanks! Could you also discuss more of the differences between the schools? How does Tufts stack upto Bowdoin?
