UBS advertising?

Why are UBS advertising so much recently?

They were all over the Singapore F1 and they are plastered all around airports, both of which are understandable place to advertise but I'm really confused by a new advert that has popped up on UK TV (on major channels), which to people who don't know who UBS are will appear very random.

anyone care to offer up an explanation?

walkioThey're trying to improve their reputation again.

well they're doing a shit job at it. for one the average UK citizen doesn't know of UBS and their advert is not one that warms your heart or even tells you what they do.

marketing and PR can produce some great results and campaigns: this isn't one of them.

Is it still the "UBS: You & Us" theme? they've had that on US TV for the longest time. Advertising is more important now that they are trying to focus even more on wealth management

It's more a of we create winners style. Lots of images of successful people throughout the ages (moon landings, wright brothers etc...)

yea I understand the wealth management angle just seems like a very inefficient way of doing it (national tv).

Jesus, I see a lot of UBS critiques from non-investment bankers.

The company's brand name was, is and will probably continue to be well-recognized across the world - especially in the UK. If their brand is among the most valuable in the world (http://www.interbrand.com/en/best-global-brands/best-global-brands-2008…), I'm pretty sure you don't know shit about how they're doing with their reputation and how efficient their marketing approach is.

maybe the advertisements have more to do with the retail branches, and anyways wealth management is not just for wealthy people anymore
