UBS current status

Decided to make this post as I’ve been speaking to people from UBS and it seems this years bonus was a joke. So quick background is I was at UBS until recently. I met with an old colleague from there and he told me how much things are going to shit especially due to bonuses. Seems like the new CEO is really starting to have an actual effect with his “vision”. Bonuses I understand were really bad for everyone (I thought it was just me and a few others) also the beloved ECM team which had a record Year was not rewarded properly. Seems the new CEO also has added hiring freezes to the bank (which he did at ING). I pretty much understand that a lot of seniors in the bank are not happy with him and the way 2020 unrolled at the end after record performances. Anyone else have anything to say about this? I mean it’s crazy that they hired someone with no experience at a IB firm or WM even. ING pretty much is a retail/commercial bank at best

I work at UBS. Not sure what your friend does but I work in London and I have seen literally 0 change since the new CEO stepped in. The bank is doing quite well in Europe, good results and strong pipeline for the rest of the year. Bonuses were overall better than last year (top performers same as last year but the average increased). Current set of MDs is lean but strong so good deals are being done.

What is the range for bonus as a % of base for top and average performers? and how does this compare to others in London?
