UBS groups - London
Hello,
Im doing a summer internship at UBS and the time has come to rank preferences for groups. Im wondering if anyone has some insights in regards to top groups at UBS in London?
I am interested in TMT, Consumer Retail , Healthcare, Industrials, and possibly M&A, even though I think I would prefer a coverage group over product if given the choice.

TMT is certainly a top group. Others don't even come close. Consumer &a Retail and possibly Industrials or M&A would complete the list.
Is this for US only? I heard that TMT at UBS HK isn't a strong team.
TMT, Lev Fin & Industrials are pretty good.

Definitely not Lev Fin. They're one of the weak groups at UBS. Just look at their deals, almost none.
TMT is the strongest group and FIG as well, but both do brutal hours.
Equities, Equity derivs, FX
FICC is largely being rebuilt
do you have any more detailled info on which particular desks are strong within those areas? (i guess assume are for example several different desks within equity derivatives etc...)
Their long-dated USD swaps desk used to be pretty good, but they lost their main trader a couple of years ago, and lost some market share with him.
They are pretty solid at all forms of FX, but are especially strong in G10 currencies. They have a few good people on the EM side too.
If you have any sort of maths background, I would shoot for an options desk. G10 FX Options, Swaptions, EM FX Options, Single-Stock Options, or Equity Index Options. If you are interested in equities, I would probably focus on single stocks, as indices are more of a macro product.
