UBS LA vs. UBS NY

There's a lot of shakeup in UBS LA... namely Joliet and Webber leaving... downsizing the office... and the analysts are now placed into a generalist role once again, covering a variety of industries. Even though the UBS LA office doesn't have as much clout as it did 3 or 4 years ago, I was wondering what everyone thinks of how the overall analyst experience/deal exposure/exit ops will be in the UBS LA office vs. UBS NY (perhaps more specifically M&A and FSLF). Thanks.

ubs la is done...gaming group left to greenhill and jefferies LA. Tech head went to centerview and moelis. Other big shots are also gone. Of course, if you have no other job, take it by all means since it's still IB and you will stil get good experience ( not sure if they still work you as hard...).

  1. there is no more jefferies LA...
  2. UBS LA still has great dealflow and is very much alive, office focuses mostly on media and telecom as well as other sectors.

Classic case of someone who has absolutely no clue what he/she's talking about...

1.ZIRH...i believe the UBS gaming group went to Jefferies correct?Jeffeires LA was previous focused on leveraged finance and now is all gaming. Correct me if I am wrong but I have friends who summered there when JEF shut down its leveraged finance office and spoke with someone who is currently at Jefferies and was at UBS

  1. Do you have any contacts in UBS LA? I have a friend who was there and he basically said nothing is going on.
