UBS LEVFIN group
Was offered position at UBS’s leverage finance group. Was wondering how good they are? From what I can tell, they’re decent (not the greatest group at the firm, but a solid one). Currently an A1 at a similar type bank, but in a decent/bad group.
Good culture, not a bad group if interested in credit investing / PE. Industry groups at UBS have horrible cultures but ppl I've worked in LF say good things about it. But they do work very hard. You'll work on plenty of live financings
They are usually the top group at UBS, not sure where you read differently unless those people wanted coverage specifically. UBS as a whole is very sponsor driven, similar to CS and Jeff, so vast majority of work is sponsor-LBOs, refis, acq financings. Can't comment on exits, just don't know enough about that.

What would hours be like? 80 on average or 100? Protected weekends?
In any decent deal flow IB group I think you are looking at about 80s average, aside from covid when everyone pretty much had an extra 10-15+ hours on their plates. UBS does protected saturdays usually I think, but again if you are at a decent BB group you will likely be logging at least a few hours on weekends.

Top 2 group at UBS, they do a ton of sponsor LBOs. Probably work 80-90 which is better than some UBS coverage groups. Really good credit exits. can't speak on PE though

Mind me asking the hours to expect, and or Comp to expect also? If I’m going to work 80-100 hours, get great experience, and get paid well in bonus it’s fine by me, but not looking to get stiffed bonus time.
