Mostly filling out templates for different frameworks, little deal flow

The group is where consultants who couldn’t quite make McKinsey meet bankers who never quite close deals. They spend their days making 200-slide PowerPoints about ‘paradigm shifts’ and ‘synergies’ that no one will ever read, all while billing it as ‘high-level strategic value.’ Translation: it’s corporate navel-gazing with a fancy title

Some of these comments are pretty misleading - UBS strategic insights and advisory is a group made up of very sharp people who do a lot of analytical work around capital allocation, DCF, etc. Have worked with them multiple times and they always provide value. That being said, it's not a coverage or product group so I have no idea what it's like from a "deal closing" perspective, they're more of a support function. It's a continuation of Credit Suisse's Corporate Insights group, which believe was pretty well regarded on the street.

Think of it like data analyst / scientists at the bank.
