UChicago or WashU?

Rising high school senior with offers at both. Initially start in Arts & Sciences at WashU with a path to move to Olin. Athlete (football).
Interested in a career in finance and/or economics.

uchicago is the easy call on pure recruiting outcomes. it's a tier 1 school for this, and washu doesn't show up on the target lists banks are actually working from, since alumni presence on the street is much thinner.

the part nobody's brought up is the athlete piece. IB recruiting starts sophomore year now and eats a huge amount of time before you've even landed an internship, stacked on top of a full course load. add football and that's a lot to carry at once. worth being honest with yourself about whether you actually want both, separate from which school wins on paper.

banking specifically, uchicago's the shorter path. still deciding, washu keeps olin open, just a longer route to the same place.
