UF Transfer

I’m transferring to UF in the fall. I’m not going to be able to do MSF as I don’t have enough credits done at UF to even apply. I know GSIF and Founders Fund are the best clubs there to place in IB, but I want to know what is my genuine chance of getting into one of those, if I’m not going to be pursuing MSF. I am interning this summer at a boutique investment bank, so I will have that experience under me. If I don’t get into either of the two clubs listed above, are there other ones that place well? Any info would be appreciated.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, GSIF (Gator Student Investment Fund) and Founders Fund are indeed considered the top finance clubs at UF for investment banking placement. These clubs are highly competitive, and while pursuing the MSF program can be an advantage, your boutique investment banking internship will definitely strengthen your application. Highlighting this experience, along with strong networking and a polished application, will improve your chances.

If you don’t get into GSIF or Founders Fund, there are likely other finance-related clubs or organizations at UF that can still provide valuable experience and networking opportunities. While specific details about alternative clubs at UF are not mentioned in the context, it’s worth exploring other finance or business organizations on campus that may have alumni connections or resources for IB recruiting.

Additionally, focus on building relationships with alumni and leveraging your boutique IB experience to stand out during recruiting, even if you don’t secure a spot in the top clubs.
