UMiami for Finance

I'm thinking about transferring into UMiami next Fall as a Junior for finance. Just curious if there are any alumni or people working in Finance in South Florida that could shed some input on their finance program as far as recruiting goes.

U M is a great school for everything but FO Finance roles...... If you're not to set on that, and are cool with MO or BO roles, then its a solid option. I have friends that go there and their snap stories are insanely lit.

Yeah it’s a very fun school haha. FO is a no go since I’ll miss recruiting, even then they get a lot of pull from Ivy Leagues. But for MO roles that would be like risk management right? Only other thing I saw was Big 4 accounting but that’s not what I’m looking for.

Yeah MO is like risk management. BO is like operations analyst and such. JohnEveryman gave sound insight. With regards to Big 4, they do have Transaction Advisory/CorpFin groups, but they focus on target schools for those programs too. At UM they're most likely recruiting for Audit and such.

You would be much better off doing the MSF program at UF - it's a great feeder program for IB. The program enables you to start taking master level classes in your junior and senior years that count towards your undergrad and graduate degree.

Hmm, UF never crossed my mind. Doesn't seem to make much sense to pay out of state for a public school unless it was really worth it. Then again I don't know much about UF.
