Under the Radar Elite Botiques?
Title says it all. What are some of the elite under-the-radar boutique investment banks? I'm not talking about the EVC/CVP/PJTs of the world. I'm talking about shops like Raine, etc. Interested to hear what you guys have to say.
Whats with all these threads about elite boutiques? Feel like dyal, m klein, dbo, etc have been getting a lot of traction on this forum recently
There's been several threads about Raine and other "Under the Radar" EBs. Go check those out first and see if you have any specific questions.
Would you be able to name some of the other “under the radar” EBs, so I can check out their threads?
Start here. Many names, including Raine, are mentioned in the thread. https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/will-rising-ebs-ever-become-ebs-…
.
It's just insecure kids who feel insecure about going to a bank that isn't as well known on WSO. They just want validation that they're going to a good bank and that people respect them
That's a bit rich coming from you considering the fact that the lack FTP mentions has driven you insane to a point you're bringing FTP into every discussion
Allen & Company
Some guy once mentioned something like a german shop, Deutscheuh Bank if I recall correctly
stop posting this, it just attracts the USA/FTP kids who didnt get bb/mm offers
People don’t realize how the timelines work lol...FTP happens before other offers
Thank you. I did not bring it up. You did.
That is false - they recruit much later after other cycles so kids cant renege for BB / EB / MM
Any info on Raine?

He wants to know whether it is an "under the radar elite boutique."
What about LionTree?
I know it’s semantics but I’m not sure it is constructive to dilute the meaning of the term elite boutique
I do think it is productive for candidates who are sizing up opportunities to think of “elite boutiques” as advisory firms that 1) routinely take M&A mandates from larger banks with a fuller suite of balance sheet related capabilities and 2) whose exit opportunities on an average basis resemble those of mid and top tier American bulge bracket banks
In any case, during my own recruitment I got the sense that many of the below offer strong transaction experience and have names that hold weight in the industry. Perhaps these firms are worth a look if like me you are interested in working at an independent platform. Anyone more experienced please feel free to correct or comment
I’d also add SVB Leerink to the list
