Undergrad college decision
I'm currently a senior in high school and want to have a career in finance, not exactly sure what field yet. My high school gpa is a 4.8 weighted / sat 1480, and I have minimal business related extracurriculars. For the past couple of years I wanted to go into medicine but recently made the decision to pivot to a finance related career and potentially earn an MBA down the line. Unfortunately I applied to nearly all of my colleges as a Biology major and am now scrambling to figure out what to do. Currently I have two choices...

Go to Texas A&M as an econ major and try to transfer into Mays for finance (difficult but not impossible). If I'm unable to transfer then I can complete my econ degree in 2 years.

Go to UT Austin as a Biology major and try to transfer into econ or Mccombs (more difficult yet more prestigious name brand). I'm not too worried about transferring to economics yet Mccombs from what I've heard sounds like a longshot. Worst case I can complete an econ degree in 3 years.
Any advice regarding which would be a better choice in terms of job and networking opportunities would be greatly appreciated!
wld flag that UT has some wall street pre-professional program (think its called WSFM) which i've heard is pretty sweaty and difficult to get into (but has insanely good placement). so i think in that case wld have to first get into mccombs and then apply to WSFM. also, don't know when u apply to WSFM, might only be open to freshman who are already in mccombs (I have no idea though, wld look into this). I'm sure that UT economics places decently well too, so not the end of the world whatsoever if u don't get into mccombs or the club. UT has a p big alumni network as well. had some friends who went there and wld just caution u and say its very sweaty culture across the board
Don't know too much about A&M but would look into whether or not they offer a comparable wall street pre-professional program and how difficult / logistics of getting into that program.
gl on finishing out senior yr.
don't stress too much
UT - better brand and stronger alumni network. Although the network might be gate kept for kids in the workshop program or whatever it's called. Would check about that because that's what it's like for my school. Either way if you're on WSO before senior prom I think you got a great shot lmfao
UT is the better name and better placement. Have seen more and more from UT Austin on the street working outside of Houston O&G which is great. And I’m biased but Austin is just a better city.
UT-Austin.
