Your best bet is joining a bank in Toronto and transferring after a year. Extremely difficult to get visas into the US without having been an intern… even then, it’s hard. I also wouldn’t put Laurier in the same category for recruiting. I’ve really only seen students from Queens and Ivey make it into the US straight out of school (but that’s not to say it can’t be done).

Best bet is going to Big 5 or satellite office, doing a year (you can get a visa easier after a year) and asking for a transfer down to the US.

Any advice for experienced hires, let's say for someone who wanted to lateral as a first-year associate in PE? I guess the only bet is to go through head hunters and even then the success rate must be pretty low?
