I don't know that much about SMU Cox, but it really comes down to where you want to be post-grad and what type of recruiting experience you want to have. USC places better than Claremont McKenna College on average, but that's partially because more kids in USC go into banking per year than compared to a small school like Claremont. I'd imagine if you get into the best clubs and/or frats on campus at USC, you are going to have a better time recruiting. But remember you are also going to have a longer line of USC kids waiting to talk to each alumn. Claremont McKenna College might be good if have a secondary alumni network you can lean on (i.e. high school, family, etc.) or if you are diversity.
It also depends on what type of college experience you want, going to USC Marshall vs Claremont is going to be two radically different experiences. Either way, you are going to have to work hard, it just goes down to what type of college and recruiting experience
