UVA CLUBS ADVICE AS A TRANSFER GMG VVF

Rising sophomore transferring from a T30 business school to UVA this fall. Planning to major in Econ with a McIntire General Business minor.

I’m coming in with a 3.8 GPA, campus leadership, a finance/ops internship at a top 5 private U.S. company, a business I founded with ~$30K in revenue, and nonprofit board/fundraising experience.

I’m trying to map out my club recruiting strategy for August. From what I understand, AIF and MII are extremely selective, especially for transfers without the freshman network. I’m wondering whether it makes more sense to focus hard on VVF and GMG instead, or if I’m being too pessimistic about Tier 1.

Specific questions:

How selective are VVF and GMG?

Do transfers have a real shot?

Do internship experience and execution-heavy leadership actually help?

Planning to start reaching out to current members in July, but would appreciate any candid insight.

Transfer hurts odds since ur a second year not a first year. Honestly networking can help, but if u went to hs with guys in the clubs ur in a way better spot
