Valuing financial services firms
Hi WSO team,
Does anyone have any good resources when it comes to valuing financial services firms - more specifically banks and alternative lenders? The loan book and debt funding are the pertinent items that need to be taken into account but I am struggling to find good reliable sources that detail valuing firms where their debt is their 'raw material' as opposed to a source of capital
To provide an example of a company -how would one value Lending Club, an alternative lending firm that provides consumer financing. When it comes to calculating equity value how does the funding and receivables loan book get accounted for in the valuation?
