I just received a verbal to work at a European bank in NYC. Offer generally good, level with street in the specific vertical im in (Fixed Income, Structured Debt)
They ranged me at 250-275 all in with a sign-on, but explained they could wiggle up to 300. I put them at 285 and they said they would get back. 4 BD later, effectively radio silence other than a quick call with HR saying its moving up the chain.
What is the typical process for this? Why is it taking so long? Never been at the negotiating table, but just wanted to make sure I'm not scaring people off at this step. Frankly fine with the higher end of what they initially quoted, just prefer to get to the signing so I can be done with the wait, which is becoming more agonizing by the day
