VETERAN SEEKING INTERNNSHIPS

How's it going, I am a veteran that recently got accepted into Columbia University wanted to see if I could use this forum to find out about internships in IB for this coming summer. I will be in my 3rd year at Columbia! I have no idea where to start looking if I'm being honest. More or so looking for guidance. Thanks in advance!

Not a veteran, and still just a student so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I would really try networking with veterans in IB, I've networked with a few of them and they've been able to get into IB by having former veterans and people they served with push them through. I'm pretty sure there's a Linkedin group for veterans on wall street so I would look at that but I could be wrong. Also, most banks have a veterans pipeline similar to diversity recruiting so I would take a look at that as well, and again network with people to find more info about that specific pipeline. I know that DB GS and MS have some sort of veterans pipeline but plenty of other banks have it so I would encourage you to looking for those.

I don't go to Columbia but you can definitely find some posts on here about what clubs, and companies to target. Good luck!

Went to Columbia, not GS or milvet, had many friends that were. Always felt like community in GS was much tighter and willing to be helpful in terms of networking vs ug. If you reach out to those you know in the industry already or do a quick linkedin search to see who has interned and is in their fourth year you will definitely be successful in finding a mentor or fulsome guidance. My experience was that milvets were especially happy to be a resource to each other in the industry, I hope you will find this to be the case too.
