Wall Street Oasis's rep on the street
So, about two weeks ago I was at a private networking event on my campus and was speaking with numerous finance professionals about everything related to finance. One person I spoke with in particular was a former VP at Goldman Sachs as well as former Bear Stearns executive.
What I noticed was that almost every single student who spoke to him, as well as the other top people, were told to head over to Wall Street Oasis to learn anything and everything about finance. It was exciting for me to hear that because, as a fellow WSO member, I do believe that this is the most helpful resource for aspiring monkey's.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, WALL STREET OASIS IS REPRESENTINNNNNNN'!
VAULT WHO? MERGERS AND INQUISITIONS WHO? FACEBOOK....WERE COMMING FOR YOU!

This is pretty awesome. I remember when this site was just getting off the ground (back in college) and I definitely used it, even then, over the Vault guides to get help.

I had the same experience. When I was asked in interviews to list some of the things I had done to show interest in IB, I started with reading Wall Street Oasis religiously and asking as many questions as I could, and they almost always interrupted to tell me how smart that was and that it was the best source for information.

If you can sift through all of the drivel then this site is plethorically helpful. I know I used it a lot when I was starting to get interested in entering the industry. I just wish some of the aspiring people would chill out with the constant ramblings of money, prestige, and clothing (to a certain extent, the discussions that dig to the immaterial i.e JAB sucks! I only wear Zegna/Oxxford). There is a lot of great advice here and for someone that does not have a close friend of family member to mentor them this place is infinite in utility.

I mention it and people are all like "yea, I just wish I could meet that happypantsmcgee guy" and I'm all like "yea I've met him, he has a huge cock" and they're all like "OMGZ you've seen his weiner?!" and I raise my eyebrow and say 'everytime I look in the mirror'.
