Weird Spot

Alright, this is going to be a classic "can i boost my chances" question so you can save the lecture about ethics. My GPA right now is around a 3.7. I will be able to get it to a 3.8 by the end of the sem. My issue is with the early December applications. This is right during finals and assuming all goes well throughout the sem, would it be acceptable to put 3.8 on my application even if final grades for the sem have not quite been released yet? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure 3.7 GPA qualifies for all anyway, someone correct me if I'm wrong. But from what I've heard 3.5 is like the minimum and 3.7+ looks really good.

Put a 3.8 on the application and you better make sure by the time processes wrap up you have a 3.8…

I put my gpa .1 higher because I was confident by the time they would check it would be at that point, which it was. Just make sure you actually get it up.

Tbh - I’d recommend you put the 3.8 and resubmit a new resume if you don’t hit your target. They don’t check your transcript until months after you’ve received your offer. And no one is checking to make sure the timelines match up, just that the numbers do.

So if you hit your target, don’t change. And if you don’t hit your target, just resubmit your resume with your failed GPA and they’ll think youre just updating it and that this semester actually hurt your GPA rather than helped it. They won’t think twice about it

Don’t stress it too much. Very few banks actually care about an unofficial transcript, and if they do it’s for a 3.7 cut off at the highest and usually lower at bigger places

Never lie in your resume. I’ve worked with ‘excel experts’ who eventually told me their gpa was a bit inflated - which wasn’t shocking when they didn’t know how to do index match match... Target and 3.7 should be fine.

Only two sources I trust, Glenn Beck and singing woodland creatures.
