What are the top 5 Restructuring groups as of the start of 2019?
Just wanted to get some insight into what groups are viewed as the best in terms of deals you work on and exit opps. Also any insight into which groups are showing great momentum over the last couple of years.
Would love to hear this as well. And any advice to lateral.
Not necessarily in order, I'd say the biggest fish are PJT, Laz, HL, EVR, Moelis
Since the end of 2018 / start of 2019, the following banks have gotten the strongest starts:
Lazard: PG&E
PJT: Dixie, FULLBEAUTY (Debtor)
Guggenheim: MattressFirm, Charlotte Russe (Debtor)
Moelis: Parker Drilling (Debtor)
Miller Buckfire: Gymboree (Debtor)
HL: Shopko, Parker Drilling (Creditor)
Ducera: FULLBEAUTY (Creditor)
These are obviously not indicative of general rankings, but just a note as to who is performing the best so far in 2019 and how outlook looks like, at least for the beginning of the year. Seems like the acquisition of Millstein by Guggenheim is paying off, which is actually kind of cool to see
