Not sure if COO is the universal term for the role but it’s what I’ve seen for the managerial lead for the group, sometimes a mid-to-senior-level banker that takes on a more managerial role or could be someone who was never a banker but came internally from corp dev or strategy etc.
What exactly do they do? In my group they seem to run all internal processes (comp, recruiting, etc.) but overall very opaque
