What does the commodities trader pipeline look?

I’ve been on this site enough to know the general IB pipeline, but another field I’m interested in is commodities.

As an incoming second-year at Laurier BBA in Canada, what steps can I potentially take to trading- physical or paper- at a major firm like Traf or Vitol?

Thanks in advance!

Go work on a sell side commodities trading desk for a coop, or end up in an O&G banking group in Calgary or M&M banking group in Toronto for a coop to see if you even like the space. I did it, found I enjoy commodities - most people who intern in the space don't really enjoy it much. If you really like commodities, then think about physical trading.
