WHAT?! Goldman not letting analysts interview for PE?

According to another thread, GS is threatening to fire analysts who interview with PE firms their first year (I believe the recruiting/headhunter process for PE begins 6 months or so after you start your FT job).

Can anyone confirm this? Wouldn't this mean analysts will basically finish their two year contract and not have a job in line? No way in hell I'm signing on FT if this is true.
