The worst thing you can do right now is reach out to anyone but HR. Just have to sit tight and interview other places for now. This could be for the better or worse.

Yikes, these dudes just lost their bonus, career projectory in a bad economy. Many of them probably were tied up to firms close to SVB and know that whole segment is dead.

What haooens here? The bank stops operating right? Can the MDs leave to other shops, or does their contract mean they have to stay put even in this kind of situation? Obviously they can’t win deals right now

SVB really doesnt exist anymore. its now " DEPOSIT INSURANCE NATIONAL BANK OF SANTA CLARA" (the FDIC entity just formed that now controls all deposits)
I dont think SVB can even pay their own employees right now at the IB arm
