"What I Saw When I Crashed a Wall Street Secret Society"

Interesting..

"• Warren Stephens, an investment banking CEO, took the stage in a Confederate flag hat and sang a song about the financial crisis, set to the tune of “Dixie.” (“In Wall Street land we’ll take our stand, said Morgan and Goldman. But first we better get some loans, so quick, get to the Fed, man.”)

A few more acts followed, during which the veteran Kappas continued to gorge themselves on racks of lamb, throw petits fours at the stage, and laugh uproariously. Michael Novogratz, a former Army helicopter pilot with a shaved head and a stocky build whose firm, Fortress Investment Group, had made him a billionaire, was sitting next to me, drinking liberally and annotating each performance with jokes and insults.

“Can you fuckin’ believe Lasry up there?” Novogratz asked me. I nodded. He added, “He just gave me a ride in his jet a month ago.”

The neophytes – who had changed from their drag outfits into Mormon missionary costumes — broke into their musical finale: a parody version of “I Believe,” the hit ballad from The Book of Mormon, with customized lyrics like “I believe that God has a plan for all of us. I believe my plan involves a seven-figure bonus.” Amused, I pulled out my phone, and began recording the proceedings on video. Wrong move."

I'm going to compare this to Edward Snowden but more narrowly focused: now we have proof....but is anyone really surprised?

the revelation shouldn't be about greed it should be about how boring and unappealing these types of things are...seriously i would rather stay home and watch two episodes of house of cards rather then get plastered and watch old wall st dudes perform bad amateur sketch comedy. Seriously I hope if i ever am as rich as someone like mike novogratz that i have better things to do then this otherwise what is the point of making all that money?

Haha seriously. That party sounds super fucking lame. With that kind of money they should have a rhino cage fighting a gorilla and 19-year old Brazilian girls walking around naked like Eyes Wide Shut.

Now that sounds way more like it

Agreed...never saw the point of any of that shit. Never was in a frat, never really liked to be part of forced "fun"...I'd rather go have real fun. Like, as you said, polishing off a fifth of...something while watching some excellent TV. Or going out to the bar. Or going to a concert. Something. Anything. Hell...go out to the bar and see how many numbers you can get in one night. Read a book. Hang out with my friends...in a normal scenario. I can think of so many things I'd rather do than what's being described here.
