What is going on at BofA?
I keep hearing how BofA’s been falling off, and the data supports it. I’m starting at BofA in the fall (coverage group) and am a bit worried about not getting as good of an experience relative to my friends at other BBs. Not to mention I heard the pay has been terrible. Does anyone have any advise on how to excel there?
Be aggressive about getting put on live deals. Lots of bloated teams with people doing nothing, you don’t want to look up after 2 years and have no reps
I don’t work at BofA so I’m speaking theoretically here and taking statement at face value but situations like this do give you the opportunity to be seen as good / value adder. You’ll hate your life but you will learn more and have key man status, unless culture truly horrific.
All banks have problems. You are at one of the biggest investment banks in the world. Go touch some grass.
The people who go on every thread and say "UBS sucks" or "BofA fell off" are not normal people and their delusions should be of no concern to you. You have a top 1% entry level role in finance. You will be fine.
The bonus drop is for asso+ analysts never took a hit
Yeah heard analyst get paid very well all in
I hope you are going to EGRC. That is where you will find the most live deal flow in this market.
lol ik this is sarcastic but with the current market unironically that might be the safest place to be given it is MM
lol I am not but I heard that group isn’t the best for getting deal reps. They apparently laid off half the group recently as well.
