LOL thats why I learn during the internship. They weren't really direct besides the fact I will be trained as a Client Relationship Manager, Underwriter, and Marketing. its an INTERNSHIP

... ok just to clarify i was wanting people with experience to explain. Not basing that I have no idea I just wanted what to expect. Ibankers everyone almost know what they do. Corporate Bankers, Asset Managers, ETC. all have a lot of info online about compensation and actual work lives. But what do Institutional Bankers do ? typically in my field of Corporate and Institutional Banking

Having just had several C&ib interviews where I asked similar questions to the interviewers, I'll take a crack at it. Corporate Banking has both the loan aspect (such as a revolving credit facility) and the relationship management aspect. For example, for Bank A to start a relationship with Client B, Bank A may first get in on the revolver and then start selling other loan related products. As the Bank gets closer with the Client, the relationship manager will talk with the Client to understand their other financial needs beyond just loans (e.g. we want to do M&A, we are looking for advisers and also M&A financing). The Relationship Manager will then cross-sell other products to the client (oh we have an M&A group at Bank A, we also have a DCM group that can help underwrite bonds for acquisition).
