i am actually

If you can get into BB IBD, I would imagine most exit opps would lead you to make 300k/year eventually. PE, Corp Dev, VC, HF, etc all have positions where breaking 300k is possible. The only exception to this I can think of is maybe philanthropy, but assuming you don't burn out at any point in your career and can hold steady, it seems very possible.

That_AstonI'm just hoping to eventually reach 250K.

how are you planning to pay for that aston?

Haha, very good.

Here to learn and hopefully pass on some knowledge as well. SB if I helped.

Aston Martin Cygnet anyone?

And either I'm extremely naive or interpreting this wrong (is 300k just base? or total) but 300k does not seem like a lot at all, and if that is supposedly a "good" comp package at the end of your career then why exactly is everyone lining up to do IB? after NYC taxes and cost of living, 300k is barely enough to put the kids through private high school.

if you want to make that kind of money then be an airline pilot. same pay, maybe a little bit less, half the hours and you get to fly to some pretty awesome places without living in the hell hole known as NYC. and you have a relatively secure union job with a good pension.
