What sector is the best paid in banking after IB ?

Wanted to know what’s the usual pay gap between the top 3 sector in a bank. I guess it strongly diverge from BB to MM’s and also regions. Still interested to know.

I mean it depends, I think from a total ceiling perspective it has to be S&T because a few anomalies each year pull in 5-10 mil due to their trades. But if we are talking on average from hours worked & total comp then it is probably LO AM, or Biotech ER which has a few rainmakers pulling in 3-4Mm. IB has everything beat on the sellside (sans S&T), but depending on how you frame it, ER & AM can't be ignored.

Question is worded kind of weird, but still second LO AM has a pretty incredible pay to hours ratio if you make it to the top. Not many seats, but the PMs make far more than most MDs and have better life. The partners at Wellington probably are worth $100MM+ each and can bring in over $10MM+ / yr (there was a divorce case a decade ago). The other top LO AM shops probably aren’t far off (although they’re not partnerships).
