What to do - First round interviews at MM banks
Hi everyone, I have a bit of a dilemma, I did first round interviews at a very good MM bank a few weeks ago (for FT IBD analyst position). It went really well, and a few days later a MD that I had talked to from this bank emailed me asking if I wanted to meet up in a city that is a few hours from my school (I am not near New York, where the bank is). Of course I said yes, and sent him what days I would be available to meet him, he said he would let me know when he knew his schedule better. We were going to meet later this week, but he never emailed me back with when he can meet. I emailed him this weekend, and got no response. Should I just wait to hear back or try to reach out to him again? By the way he is the one who got me the first interview. Thanks
is he supposed to be meeting you for an interview, or to hang out? Sit tight; if you don't hear from him, follow up the next week and try to reschedule. He may be busy at the time.
In my firm, all the senior bankers are really busy right now traveling and going to client meetings. Because it's almost year end (assuming fiscal year is the same as calendar year), everyone is trying to meet #s and budgets. I'd still follow up but be patient about it.
I'm not sure what it was supposed to be probably a mixture of hangout and get to know me and an interview. I will follow up a little later if I don't hear from him. I'm sure you are right, he is probably just swamped. Thanks for the advice
Wait a week and follow up.
