What work do interns do?
How much work did you do as an intern? What can I expect to actually be doing the whole summer? Industry boutique if that is useful to answering my question, thanks!

Text work in PPT
Scrubbing comps
Excel work outside of the model (i.e. price charts, comp charts)
Price refreshing model, all excel, PPT for new stock prices
That's like 90% of the work honestly. Intern work varies a lot, some interns are grinding all summer and some have very little work. It doesn't reflect badly on you if you aren't given a ton of work, interns are generally not trusted to run models or important solo projects
Great, thanks
Does the text work involve first bat at writing up bullet points and banners on like the exec summary page, etc.
Mostly making text changes (i.e. MD will write sentences out in comments and you flip wording to that in PPT). Sometimes taking first stab at a company description
The exec summary, transaction overview, etc get a ridiculous amount of attention from seniors and they will write that up
Usually this one's the FT associate's (or VP if no associate on deal) responsibility and you won't be asked or expected to do it. That said, if you're free and want to take a stab at it, there is only upside to sending the associate a draft of the bullets and asking for their thoughts. Key is it can't interfere with the work you're asked to do.

I'd just give the MD a handy and move down the ranks through the day, every day.
